Drawing units are Feet = pipe units are feet, not inches

OK,

Our company changed to AutoCAD Civil 3D a few weeks ago and all of our Plant 3D projects use the Civil 3D files as backgrounds via XREF.  I have tried to make the XREF's work well using several methods (inserting at a scale factor of 1/12, etc.) but the best way seems to be to create our drawings with units set to feet.

If I set units to feet in a new Plant 3D drawing, everything is great right up until I start routing pipe.  I picked Schedule 80 PVC just for the trial run and routed some 2" pipe, but it shows up in the model as 24" pipe (2').

Is there a setting for this or do I just need to go back to inches for drawing units and figure out some other way to bring in our XREF's so that the coordinates and elevations are accurate?

Thanks,

Stephan
