I changed the sequence of items in how we were naming our pipes. i.e. - it defaulted to size-spec-service-line number. My company wanted it to be size-service-line number-spec. So, I went in and modified it to do this. But now when I open a drawing that I have changed this in, the drawing checker review dialog box tells me that this new sequence is "old" and the old sequence is "new" and wants to change everything back. Is this because I changed it in the middle of a project? Is this something that needs to be done only at the beginning of a project?
thank you.
Typically you do want to establish all your settings prior to starting a project. It would be a great ideal to set up a template project that you could use that way all your settings remian untouched.
The drawing checker dialog that you are seeing, are tags pointing to Plant 3D object or P&ID objects?

This is the first job I have set up. I have never been an administrator to ANYTHING. my new boss seems confindent that I can figure this out with just a "fundamentals" course. I myself am not so sure. That being said, that is they we didn't have things set up at the beginning. This is a new program to all of us and we don't even know how we want things set up yet. Plus it was set up originally by someone who even knows less than myself, so this particular project may not be in the best shape. Hopefully going forward I can set things up better. To answer your question, I changed the sequence of the information in the pipe name - P&ID's only. We have done no 3D piping on this job. So now everytime I open a drawing the drawing checker reviewer is popping up with all the line numbers, saying that my new ones are old (in the old column) and the old sequence is new (in the new column). I have at least learned how to shut this off at the opening of drawings, so that helps.
I've seen a bug that brings the drawing checker up even if the information isn't new. i recommend turning it off. PLANTDWGCHECKERAUTOCHECK
