Can't find symbol for specified part.

Hi

I created a empty spec and added a custom part from the catalog.

In the catalog I created a new component with "Use Custom Geometry"

And assigned all necessary properties, also the preview is displayed correctly

When trying to insert this part/symbol I get the message "Can't find symbol for specified part."

I'm using P3D 2011

What I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

The most common reason for this message is that a folder that matches the catalog name was not available somewhere in the shared content directory when you saved the component in the catalog editor.  This causes the block to not get added to the catalog (the preview that you see is from plantpartconvert).  There is no error message, but the blockname will change if the save succeeds.

If you have not watched the video, I recommend looking at Specs and Catalogs 3 here.  The folder issue is discussed at 9:30.  Also see Spec Editor >  A folder name matching the catalog name is required ... here.  Please let me know if creating the folder does not solve this problem.

I found the problem, the short description in the catalog had to be "Valve"  otherwise it didn't work
