AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 Isometric - Exclude item from BOM

Hi All,

Hoping this is a quick fix that someone out there will have an answer to. It's been getting me down!!

We are setting up our Iso style for 2013, jumping straigh from 2011 to 2013, so have probably missed out on alot of issues to the iso generator in 2012. Basically in 2011 we had the ability to set the status of an item to existing and subsequently it would NOT appear in the iso BOM.

Our issue is with victaulic couplings and that our model connection shows a gasket/seal as the seperator between the pipe ends. Our coupling description for the BOM is 5" Vict Coupling c/w Seal etc etc. So we want to exclude the gasket from the iso BOM. As mentioned above, in 2011 we would simply set the status of gasket to existing and job done, however in 2013, not only does the gasket properties not seem to have a 'status' field to set to existing, but anything that (elbows etc) that are set to existing still appear in BOM. Im sure this is just a quick setting change, maybe in xml file, but would appreciate a helping hand.

Thank

Ricki

When you click on the gasket, in the Properties, does it say Gasket or Connector?

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. In the properties, the gasket is showing as a connector. The connection is also pulling through a weld which we dont want.

Hi,

The Gasket should have the Status property available. Try using Ctrl + right-click to select it.

Regarding the BOM, you need to make sure the Existing Theme is enabled and that report in BOM is set to Off:

Thanks,

Dan

Brilliant thanks.

I found it in the xml file literally minutes before you replied. But good to know its editable via the user interface.

Hi,

is there also a possibility  to turn off a complete status. e.g. Existing in isometric drawings?

for example, we have the same Line number for Piping witch is to 50% prefabricated with simble 2d drawings and and 50% with isometric drawings. so we don´t want to have shown this part on the isometric drawings.

thanks
