    connection between blocks/symbols and database

Hi all, I`m working with PTC Creo Schematics (former Routed System Designer) for our P&ID’s. We're thinking to change the Software for the P&ID. I’m really surprised which improvement Autodesk made here the last years.

Here my question. Is it possible to insert a block/symbol for example a valve to the pipeline and then choosing the technical specifications from a dropdown list (database). See example selection by size of the valve.

    Size | Supplier | Part number |  etc. |

I already found out that I can select different sizes from a preconfigured database but I would like to select for example Size DN100 and all the rest should be filled in automatically. Is that possible without additional software programming.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Dalheimer,

Unfortunately valves in AutoCAD P&ID are not piping specification driven. This is what would allow you to populate said data to you valve.
