So, I've identified a couple issues here.
1. Per the OP, using the assign tag dialog box to change the size/spec is currently broken (changing disconnects the opc). However, if you go to properties and change the property itself (Spec vs Assign Tag > Spec), it works.
2. Data being sent across OPCs...is not broken, but works a little differently. What is supposed to happen is that you make the change on the first page, and then the next time you open the connecting drawing it updates. What has happened in my cases is that I make the change...get prompted to update the drawing (which I do), and then the change reverts back. It works more like the Excel import/export now where you have to accept all changes which is unfortunate, but still doable.
3. I have heard of a couple other issues, but these were the key ones. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have your support people create cases with Autodesk's support system if you have issues. While some read the forums, the case log is what drives Autodesk's attention.
I have just noticed a possible glitch with the new 2014 software.
i say 'possible' as i cant quite believe something so fundamental, could be unfunctional.
If assigning the same tag to a line which exists on two drawings, the line would be inputted twice into the line list. The line is only fully linked, when the off page connectors are linked together. This would eliminate one instance of the line, leaving the line-list in a correct state.
One line, from equipment on one page, to equipment on a seperate page.
You are not prompted by the system if you are inputting a possible duplicate line number. The system still safe guards to an extent -Say for instance, you are numbering a line '001' on 'BBB.DWG' when that line number already exists on 'AAA.DWG'. you can only assign '001' to a line on 'BBB.DWG' if you also have the 'AAA.DWG' drawing open.
So on the line-list, now two instances of '001' exist. this is incorrect. In 2013, a simple OPC connection would fix this. In 2014, when connecting the OPC's, both instances of the line number still exist. So if a line crossed five drawings, it would appear five times on the Line List.
Is there a new command / procedure for correcting the line-list?
Obviously this of the upmost importance to any project being aided with Plant-3D.
Not really that big of an issue. It happened to some degree in 2013 as well. What you have to remember is that you want a line list based on the line groups - not on the Pipe line segments. That's why we wrote the extended fields plugin:
B/c our plugin populates equipment from/to and drawing fields for the line group, you can just do a report on the line group class. Even in that though you have to use a grouping though b/c by default Plant returns a row for each drawing the group appears on.
This really needs to be fixed. Having a line disconnect like this is just not a viable option. It was much better in 2013, this is not an imporvement. In addition the ability in 2013 to actualy pick the connector you are connecting to instead of a view in a dialog box that only picks up model space is not an improvement either. Some of our clients require the P&ID's in paperspace not model space. This makes it impossible.
