BE HONEST USERS.....
do these ever work right? have they worked on a project larger than 8 pages? 2013 P&id users have they changed?
everything that goes wrong with our p&ID setup is related to the IMO poor coding of these off-page connector attachment points.
we are on subscription and now that 2013 is out i am afraid to switch everyone over only to hatch a new batch of coding gremlins. 2012 is what it is, i feel like the yearly upgrade is only changing the picture on the box.....to 2013.
often this software resembles a beta release.
after having a few drawings corrupted by off page connectors, sending the file to autodesk support yielded only head scratching after a month.....
we are in need of some additional seats and i am reluctant to purchase anything else until these issues are solved.
so i wanted to see if its an installation issue on our end and other users are not having problems.
thanks

Hello Dwayne,
Im sorry you are having problems with the OPC's. Can you tell me at what point during your workflow that you place them?

I don't have any problems with OPCs. What corrupts my drawings most often is when I don't close my working drawing before editing the database. That often causes errors in the lines that will cause errors in the OPCs. If the drawing isn't corrupted, the OPCs work exactly the way they are supposed to. Our drawing sets are on the smaller size, 20-50 drawings at the most.

Are you using SQLite or SQL Server for the databases? I'd recommend SQL Server Express if you're working on a large project with multiple users.
I've found that if you try to connect off-page connectors from model space (viewport maximized) it will allow you to select the drawing number you want to connect to, but then it throws you back into the first drawing and you cannot select the OPC on the other drawing. At that point the off-page connector window will no longer come up and you have to close out of Plant/P&ID to get it working again.
If you switch to paper space, activate the viewport, then connect your OPCs it should work fine.
I have reported this to the development team.
Thank you,

I noticed that 2013 wouldn't open the connect to drawing, also. I solved that by opening both drawings before connecting the OPC, but I would be great if it worked the way it did in the last release!
