Moving equipment definition between two classes

We have several people working on on the same P&ID project.  One has defined some vessel-like equipment in one class (Tanks) and another has defined a new class (Vessels) and then defined similar equipment inside that class.

For consistency, we'd like to move all the equipment definitions that are vessels into the new class.

Is there an easy way to do this, or do we have to go through and recreate each definition in the new class then purge the old definitions from the other class?  If we do that, what happens to drawings in the project that have used one of these pieces of equipment?

I had a discussion regarding your query with our database specialist
and was informed that, unfortunately there is no such easy way to accomplish what you are looking for.
You will have to redefine your equipment under a new vessel class.Old drawings that have equipment in the Tank class will continue to be Tanks and if you want to change them then you will have to recreate them as vessels (remove from drawings and add vessel instead).
