Displaying area number for a valve

I would like to display the area number for a valve or other component on a drawing. I find I can do this easily enough for individual instrumentation tags. But how do I edit the tag that goes with a particular piece of equipment i.e. where can I get at and edit the "Field mounted Discrete instrument_Styleblock" for example
    Please use plain text.

    Steps:

Use the EDITPROJECT command or right-click the project in the Project
    Manager and select properties.

Open up P&ID Class Definitions, EngineeringItems, Instrumentation,
GeneralInstrumentSymbols, FieldMountedDiscreteInstrument in the tree view on
    the left.

At the top under "Class Settings: FieldMountedDiscreteInstrument" select
    Edit Block...

You will then be placed in the block editor and see a dynamic block
definition. Two things to note here:
    1. Toolbar with a single icon to launch the Assign Annotation Format dialog.
    2. Attribute definitions such as #(TargetObject.Type)

Refer to the AutoCAD P&ID documentation for an explanation of using the
Assign Annotation Format dialog. You can use it to modify the attdef
expression that is evaluated by the program.

Once you are done with your edits, close the block editor (ie. BCLOSE), save
your changes, and hit OK all the way out of project setup.

    Hope this helps.

Hey, many thanks for that reply!
I have actually managed to do this, as you have said. But the problem is I would like to edit the bubbles that go with... say a hand valve, so after converting it to a control valve I would also like IT to have an area number on the schematic.
The problem is I cant see where I can get at the tag bubbles associated with such "inline assets" For these the "edit block" only edits the symbol for the asset and not the bubble. And they do not seem to share the same bubbles as the separate instrumentation tags!

If I understand correctly, then you are looking for the annotation blocks
and these are a bit tricky to find. Go into project setup and find the class
whose's annotation block you want to modify. Select the annotation style
from the drop down combo box in the bottom right. If the Edit Block...
button continues to be disabled then click on the parent node of that class
in the tree view on the left and repeat until Edit Block... is enabled. That
is the location in the tree where it is defined and all classes below that
node get it. If you want to a add new style then you can do so at any level.

    Hope this helps.
