I am having a huge problem with 240 odd OPC's to connect over 23 drawings. The create connection window takes +/- 3 mins to preview so over 240 OPC's that's a lot of waiting!
I was emailed your solution, but am having a problem getting it to work. I've never used plug-ins before, so please bear with me. I have downloaded the Zip file and copied the Lazcad.Opc.bundle folder into C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins as directed, however when I open P&ID and type the command 'OPCSELECT' i get a message "Unknown Command".
Can you please advise what I am doing wrong? Thanks
I did as you said but couldn't see Lazcad.OPC in the AppManager, but the Netload command works.
I'm working in 2014, with no exposure to the earlier versions so am getting used to the OPC connect methods. As far as I understand I have to open both drawings I want to connect OPC's in. In the first drawing I type OPCSELECT and choose an OPC, then go to the second drawing and type OPCSELECT and then choose the matching OPC. That seems to work for me with instantaneous connection. You've saved me days of waiting for the program to respond when connecting OPC's so thanks a ton.
Thank you so much for this solution Rave.Tam. We did some initial testing of 2014 before moving our projects over, but somehow this issue didn't come up on our radar until we committed, and went into 2014 production. Obviously our test databases were too small.
I commend your ability to not only come up with a solution, but also your sharing of that solution. We have 2 projects, one with 500+ OPC's across 50 dwgs, and another with 1005 OPC's across 122 dwgs. Your plug-in has made our team productive again.
Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but something don't smell right about this lazcad deal. I've never seen anybody with more than a few posting saying that this utiltity actually works. It didn't work for me and actually caused me problems.
