I've created multiple P&ID class definitions in pipelines (one for each type of fluid). Each class has its own linetype in which you can see the fluid name (see attachment).
Sometimes, it's useful to be able to change the class of a pipeline, so it can get the right linetype and the right color.
I know I can do this by matching properties, but the class doesn't change. So when you get in the data manager, the relevant line is not in the right class. Then if you want to select lines by class definition, it won't be selected.
I.e.: I drawn a line using "process water". The process ingeneer ask me to change it in "drinking water". If I want to select all the "drinking water" lines in my P&ID's an review them, the relevant one won't be displayed...
Does anyone have a solution?
yes right click and substitute but the line cant be connected to connector arrows
to see is this a solution draw a simple line connected to nothing, right click and substitue and now see can you change it. You can also highlight an infinite amount of lines and substitue in one go.
This is handy for me when changing lines from primary to secondary because i misread the process drawing or copied from another location a similar p&id layout but with different line class
OK, when connection points are disconnected, I can subsitute... But the possibilities for the susbtitution are not what I'm expecting... I have about 50 differents pipelines and the substitution menu only shows 2! I have checked in class definitions: substitution field is True and the supported standards field has the same value.
