I'm ruing both 2005, packaged with inventor Pro 9, and 2006 which came
packaged with inventor Pro 10 but this problem is only with 2006

All the references on the news group archives, to this
problem are, date about 2001/2 and the lisp files have changed since
then.

I've also had look in the Lisp files that are called at start-up and
any Lisp files that they call and there is no sign of this command in any of the
listings.

I am running Inventor Series 9 & 10. I also
noticed this "unknown command" message. It only comes up in vanilla AutoCad. At
first I thought the message makes sense because there isn't a browser like in
ACADM and MDT, but it didn't make sense why the heck ACAD was trying to
initialize the command!

Anyway, I did a search on google for
AMBROWSERRESTORE. Appearently the problem is in earlier releases as well. I just
launched ACAD 2005 and there was no problem. I attached a link below of thread I
found via the google search.

I've already had a look at this file and it refers to the ACAD.LISP and
ACADDOC.LSP files I've also had a look in it he files but there's nothing there
that calls this routine or in any of the LISP routines called by either ACAD.LSP
and ACADDOC.LSP

It seems to one of those things where Autodesk have developers have cut and
pasted code somewhere in a routine but not edited.

Autodesk have been quiet on this one despite it being posted in 3 news
groups.

Hi,

I believe you see this message when you launch Vanilla AutoCAD.

FixedProfile.aws is the file (AutoCAD Workspace file) that triggers this
command. ACAD.LISP or ACADDOC.LSP is not involved in this process:

* Please refer to FixedProfile.aws file under the following directory.
"C:\Documents and Settings\<>\Application
Data\Autodesk\Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2006\R16.2\enu\Support\Profiles\"
(You will need to see hidden folders to see FixedProfile.aws - enable it
under Tools->Folder Options in Window Explorer).

* Open this file in notepad and remove this line before running vanilla
AutoCAD:

This eliminates this message the next time you run vanilla AutoCAD; however,
please note that AMBROWSERRESTORE command will be reinserted once AutoCAD
Mechanical or Mechanical Desktop is launched again.

I suspect if AMBROWSER has anything to do with the freezing of the program.
Just to narrow down to the issue, login as a different user on the same
computer, and try running Vanilla AutoCAD. If you can run AutoCAD on this
new user profile, it confirms that the program freezing is specific to your
Windows login profile.
