Step out scaling and origin locations

Hello, I would like to revisit this because I am having problems.

I am building a 3D model in autocad from a .stp file parts and parts I built in autocad. When I stp out the file and bring it into Inventor or Back into AutoCAD the scaling of some of the parts are wrong and the some of the parts are moved to 0,0. I get the same issue when I try to import the dwg into inventor.

I can provide the files if needed

Thanks

Tom

It appears that there could be a unit conversion issue.  Would it be possible to provide a sample file?  This will assist in further troubleshooting this inquiry.

Type -dwgunits and hit Enter.  What does your command line say?

Do an experiment with a simple cube.

What is the results of the experiment (attach files here)?

One dwg was created using inches another was created using mm. I inserted both into a new dwg and had to scale one to the correct size. I do not know if this could cause the origin point to reset or what.

The work around for me was to create the models I needed all in one file and when I exported to stp it worked.
