Slow loading - Select file dialog box

I recently changed from windows 2000 to XP PRO SP2. In windows 2000 the select file dialog box (containing approx
76MB of data) would load instantly and I could scroll through the folder. Now with XP PRO SP2 installed this process takes
about 2 minutes to load before I can scroll through and select a file...Help!!! The files are stored on our server.
