RE: AutoCAD Mechanical 2014 FATAL ERROR

HI,

I am having a problem whereby at least 2 times a day my autocad mechanical 2014 is crashing giving me an error as below:

'FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0ab0 Exception at e93f05b6h'

The error have occured an number of times when switching tabs but other times have been completely random.

Can anybody help? I have lost so much work due to this.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi jhough12,

Usually, fatal error is due to:

  • Corrupted installation or Windows user profile
  • Outdated graphics card driver
  • Anti-virus or security software limiting user permissions

You can apply several methods as below:

Firstly, please check below points:

  • Install the latest product updates: http://usa.autodesk.com/support/downloads/
  • Install the latest Windows updates
  • Install the latest graphics card updates
  • Temporarily disable any anti-virus or security software
  • Set UAC (User Account Control) to the lowest level
  • Disable Windows 3GB switch if in use
  • Try log in as a different Windows user account or new local administrator account
  • Try Windows Diagnostic mode (Enable Windows Installer and FLEXnet Licensing services)

Secondly, I would recommend you to uninstall/reinstall your product completely. This will mostly fix any issues from corrupted installation. Please refer to the following TS:

Hi,

Can you check whether you have installed a certified graphics driver. Some drivers can create such fatal errors. You can download the right one from the link below,

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?id=18844534&siteID=123112

You may also want to try the following solutions and see whether it helps.

Turn off hardware acceleration,

Hope it helps. Do send me a screenshot of the fatal error, if you still reproduce the issue.
