Print is viewable in TrueView but error when I try Autocad

I am trying to open a .dxf file using AutoCad Mech 2011. I can view the .dxf file in TrueView but I get an error when I try to open the same .dxf file in AutoCad Mech. 2011.

Any ideas?

What is the message you're seeing? It would be good if you can attach the drawing that you're having a problem opening.

In the meantime, please do the followings:

• Check if the latest updates are installed (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=9240898#section4).
• Try to recover the drawing Drawing Utilities > Recover > Recover.

Could it be the DXF file is a format higher than your Mech 2011?
Like DWG files, you cannot open a 2013 or higher in 2011.
