Drawings become huge when saved in AutoCAD Mechanical

I used to work on AutoCAD Lite, but have recently upgraded to AutoCAD Factory Design. Since working on AutoCAD Mechanical, my drawings have become huge.

If I save the files as 2010 version, it opens fine and the file becomes small again when you save it in AutoCAD Lite. But I would obviously rather work in AutoCAD Mechanical.

I have installed the 2013 Service Pack, but it does not help.

Is there anything else I can do?

LT Is 2013 version? You just converted all of your custom MECH objects to the 2013 format: if SAVE in LT2013 is set to anything lower than 2013dwg format, those objects are now useless ProxyGraphics that kind of balloon in byte size.
I guess you never plan on using these files fully in MECH2010?
