Delete View

When i creat a Part.. And a Couple Component Views in the Browser..
I Delete a View.. Late I Realize i want the View Again..
So I Click New Component View.. and Name It..
But it Say's The Name is already Used...
I can't find that Name in Browser anywhere..
I Deleted it... But it says it's still there??
WHERE is it???
Also.. After Deleteing a View...
I go to Annotation View.. and Select Add Views...
The Old View I deleted is Still Liseted there...
When I Delete a Component View.. by Right Click the View and Select Delete.. Why Does it NOT Delete it?? it's not on Screen.. Nor is it in the Browser Tree... But it Must Be Somewhere... Cause From Now On I can Never have A view with that Name again...
Where is it at?? How Do I Really Delete it???

Ok Ok I figured it Out!!!!
I have to use the Structure Catalog to Find the Deleted Views... And Get rid of them..
That Seems Very Redundant..
if I delete a View in the the Browser tree.. Why Does is it NOT removed from Structure catalog???

Hi,

Which release are you using? I think we have changed the workflow in the
most recent shipping version to ask you if you want to remove the definition
as well as the instance you are deleting in model space (when deleting the
last instance).

On the other hand, there is value for keeping the un-instanced definition
available from the structure catalog. For example, if you want to copy a
definition from another drawing you can place the definition and all of its
related views using the "copy definition" command into the current drawing
for use. This is nice since you may not want to add all of the views, etc.

You can also use the AMSPURGE command to remove these un-instanced
definitions as well.

How do you like mechanical structure as a whole?

Regards,

Eric

Mechanical Structure has this flexibilty that you can have different views
for different component instances. Removing view in browser only affects
that particular component instance.

To remove views from component definition, you'll have to do it from
structure catalog as you discovered. Structure catalog is the place to
manage definition data while in browser you can have multiple instances for
same definition.

Hope this helps.

Just seemed like When I delete a View From the Model Tree.. It should Also Delete from the Structure Catalog..
Minor thingy though...
I really Like Mechanical Structure ..
A few little Things would Make it Better IMO.. But overall I Like it..

I'm glad you like mechanical structure, but I just have to ask - what few
things could we add to make it better for you?

Eric
