Changing the scale without changing the dimensions

I need to change the dimensions of only a few parts of a drawing, those of which are basically just section views and specific details. When i go to plot, however, i need those details and section views bigger to be able to see them but i need the dimensions to stay the same.

I DONT want to explode the dimensions.

I realise you can go into properties and change this by dimension but this is a large drawing. 30+ feel tall and was wondering if their was just a quick solution.

Just to restate, i dont need the entire drawing scaled, just portions.

I see 2 options for you.

1)  If you work (and dimension) in paperspace, you can use a viewport or ...

2) ... if you work in model space only create a dimstyle that has a .5 dimlfac. (and, of course, scale your detail as required)

I run across option 2 all the time in my work and details that are scaled are a PITA.  But then that's just me.
