BOM

I have recently started at new company. This company sells equipment for the laundry & catering industries.

Each machine that we use has requirements i.e. plug, hot & cold taps, etc.

All the drawings (just a top view) of each machine has been drawn & is in one drawing.

Currently we type out all these requirements in a title block on the side.

I would like to get to a point where if I copy & paste one of the machines from that drawing to another drawing the Bom/part list will automatically update. This will make things quicker, easier & avoid a mistake being made.

Can anybody tell me how to do this?

Thanks

Hi,

If you use AutoCAD Mechanical to create those drawings using part references and BOM, then when you copy both geometry and part references, BOM data will be automatically carried along.

Thanks.
