Autocad to mastercam

I have a CNC miller and lathe which currently uses mastercam to draw a 3D part from a 2D AutoCAD drawing, create tool paths etc for onward transfer to the appropriate machine.

I have tried creating a 3D image on AutoCAD but when I try and transfer it across to mastercam it doesn't recognize it.

Can anyone help me with this process? So I can open a 3D AutoCAD part in mastercam create my tool paths and away I go to the machine, which will save me a lot of time.

Can you attach a sample 3D solid dwg part here that you are trying to take to MasterCAM?
