ACADM 2015 vanilla

I am running ACADM 2015 using a vanilla based profile.  In previous versions (2008m through 2014m) AutoCAD would remember the last profile it ran under and launch using that same profile.  It would continue opening drawings or launching with that profile until you chose another.  If I mistakenly launch a mechanical profile I would have to take steps to re-launch in <<VANILLA>> and then set my vanilla based profile current.

With 2015 it appears that individual drawing files remember or are somehow tagged as being opened last in a mechanical profile.  I can operate all day long in my vanilla profile but once I open that drawing or any other last opened by 2015 in a mechanical profile.  I will mention that opening said drawing in 2014 under a vanilla profile and then saving it does not allow that file to be opened in vanilla 2015.  The session converts into a mechanical session that will not be coaxed back into vanilla by any means attempted.

Short of uninstalling ACADM 2015 and replacing it with ACAD 2015 that is included in the suite can anyone shed some light into controlling this behavior?

Are you running AutoCAD Mechanical (ACADM) 2015 and loading the "Vanilla" profile?  Have you attempted to run ACADM as Core AutoCAD by clicking Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD Mechanical 2015 > AutoCAD 2015?  This will launch ACADM as AutoCAD without the "AMPP" profile present in the program.  If this does not help resolve the issue, would it be possible to provide a sample file for testing?

I have done this and have successfully launched the program with just the "Vanilla" profile. The problem is that the Ribbon has no tabs or panels loaded. How do I load them?
