ACAD MEchanical bom issue

hi all,

i am a new user to acad mechanical. i am having problem with the BOM command.

let say if i insert 1 part from the library, then i refer to the BOM, it shows the part details with the quantity of 1.BUT, when i insert another part(same part as earlier) then i refer to the BOM, the quantity of the part did not change to 2.instead a new row is inserted.anyone know how do i merge the BOM?

Just copy the part once you bring it into your drawing instead of inserting another instance of it.
