I need to find lines that overlap one another in a drawing and mark them, not delete them. I am running AutpCAD Map 3D 2012.
Thanks,
~Sue

Hi Sue,
Thank you for posting to the Autodesk Discussion Groups.
I would like to help you, but unfortunately, I do not understand your request.
Can you please reply with a detailed problem description that includes a set of steps to reproduce? Screenshots might help too.
Thanks!
Phil

your option if the lines are drawing objects
cleanup tools - find duplicates
if the line are on different layers . qselect a layer to highlight the line on that layer
shift select and delete one line copy and delete to see the line underneath, cntrl z to replace it.
if the lines are FDO objects open the data table and select each line in the table
post the types of line and details for a better answer

Dear Phil, there's nothing to understand: she simply wanna highlight the ovelapping lines, without deleting them.
Here's my workaround, Sue:
- type in _MAPCLEAN
- set up like this
- in the next window, click on "retain.." and not on the default "modify.." like this
- after "Finish", you can isolate the layer SMVEST containing a copy of your overlaps
