AutoCAD Map 3D

I am a surveyor who currently uses Carlson Software to process all of my data; however, I have been given the oppurtunity to explore Autocad Map 3d as a possible replacement.  Do I need a seperate program to work along with Autocadd Map 3d to process my data or is a cogo program already contained inside of the Autocadd platfrom?
