I'm using Map 2013 and not seeing how to choose to use an expression to rotate symbols of attached shp data (see attached png file). I see where you can put in a numeric value but that's all.  Maybe I am just not seeing something?

The "help" says you should be able to use an expression to rotate a symbol.

When I try this, there is a drop-down arrow available to me for Rotation. One of the options there is to Use Expression. Your dialog looks a little different from mine. Are you on Windows XP? Or do you have some custom display theme running in Windows that prevents this drop-down arrow from appearing?

Seeing your screenshot my opinion is the OP has set the FontSize to > 100% in his Windows-options.

That makes a lot of dialogs looking bad (and indeed hiding controls), so set it back to 100%.

I will be switching to a new computer with Windows 7 and will go to the 64-bit with Map 2013.

Maybe that will be an improvement, we'll see.

I will post a note if the change resolves the issue.

I changed the font size and now I can see the complete pull-down choices.
