Imported 3D polylines will not change to layer style line types.

When I import shape files the polylines will not take the layer style I move them to. They stay a continuous linetype. Linetype and Lineweight is set to ByLayer. Only difference between the new lines and the lines drawing correctly is the lines that stay continuous are 3D polylines and the correct ones are normal polylines. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make the imported lines accept my layer linetypes?

3D polylines will only display as a continuous line, been that way since 3D polylines were created in AutoCAD.

Shapefiles do NOT contain 3D polylines, so please check the nature of them by means of _LIST command.

Maybe it's only a _LTSCALE issue, lady.

    Dear Murph,

a polyline with an elevation along the Z axis is NOT a 3D poly, but only a simple, poor, humble 2D contour...

In Autocad yes, I agree but in ESRI you can create 3d polylines as long as you have the 3D analyzes module

I don't believe that ESRI is able to generate 3D shapes: would you upload one of these miracles..? Thanx!
