We've recently upgraded to Map 3D 2013 and are taking advantage of Oracle FDO. We're in the real estate business and are storing our closed polylines in Oracle Spatial so we can create colorized reports. These colorized reports were previously created in Adobe illustrator by another department at our company.
Now our AutoCad folks don't like the delay when opening a DWG and connecting to Oracle. However it is crucial that they connect each time due to changing feature labels being placed on their polygons.
We've found that FDO technology is very "chatty," sending as many as 250 requests to the database when opening the DWG. I have dug around in the Map 3D settings and cannot find anything to tweak. Is there anyway to change the chattiness of FDO? Our users furthest from database server wait as long as 60 seconds to fully open a DWG. Taking into account how many DWG's they work in in a day, this can be quite frustrating.
