2012, hatch window

hello.
In using this new-- to me-- version of map, I've just tried making a hatch, and notice that it no longer calls up the window that it used to call up in the older versions-- 2009 and earlier, for me.
Is there a setting that I can set to ensure that the hatch window comes up?
I rarely use the default type/pattern name and scale settings, and I prefer to select my boundaries, instead of selecting a point within an area.

At least two options to get that in 2011 should be the same in 2012.
First just enter T at the command line after you enter the Hatch command.
Second way is click on the Options arrow in the ribbon tab Hach Creation as shown in the attached image.

ok, I finally figured out what your screen shot showed.
It appears that the hatch editor not only provides the old window, but a ribbon version also activates..... This is a new thing.... ![]()
so many choices, and so little time to work through everything.....
