    FDO Labelling

    Oh I wish.....

FDO is a powerful feature, and as such, I'm trying to use more and more into our everyday drafting plans. Being able to keep a live link between a database and CAD, is a definate plus as I know the data will always be up to date.

Problem is, when using the feature labels, not many options are given for editing. For example, l've like to grab the text and slightly moved it. I do realize when this is done, it becomes regular cad text. But obviously, the whole point would be to keep the live link so when ever I have to come back to this plan, it saves the time updating. When text is converted to text, it looses all styling done in FDO, making the whole process a waste of time, as now, I have to make my mtext match what my FDO labels look like. Mtext also, does not have a ghosting option, huge difference when I need to do this.

As well, it would be nice to have more editing input options. When labelling lines, FDO does give the option to label along the line, it puts the label around a curve. But how about if I have a polygon that's not a perfect square. I do not have this option here.

OH i wish and hope that this feature label can be more improved.

    Please use plain text.

I concur, even if you could drive the offset of the text from the database (the bulk being 0,0) from the insertion, but once and while if you could offset the text for one feature in FDO that would be nice.

For example, if you could have

OffsetX and OffsetY driven from two columns (in the units of the coordinate system), this would REALLY help.

    Please use plain text.
