shapefile to 3dpolyline conversion

I have a shapfile of multipart line features (i.e. polylines)  I draped them on a 3d surface in GRASS GIS and exported a shapefile.  now how do i get that shapefile to display in 3D inside civil 3D through FDO connection?

second part:  how do I import that shapefile as a 3D polyline into Civil3D to generate breaklines?

Did you use _MAPExtractFeatureGeometry command?

Are you really sure Grass created a 3D shape, sir?

Please share it with us here, if you'are allowed to, thx.

If it is a true 3d shp file mapimport will create the 3d ploylines when imported, FDO connections are all 2d for shp files.

I'm willing to say by drapping it in GRASS does not convert the 2d to 3d.

Hello

Can you do an "standard" MAPIMPORT from your 3D SHP file ?

If YES, which result ?  Have you a 3DPOLY ?

Bye, Pat
