export a surface to use in arcmap

I have a map with contours (polylines), at the correct elevations. I am needing a surface to use in arcmap. I can create a surface from contours in civil3d. Not sure how to get that surface to map3d or esri arcmap. Any help with workflow will be greatly appreciated.

Export the polylines to shp with the 3d option. Then in ESRI use the surface tools on the contour lines.
