computer shutdowns when I use Layer Manager button

Has anyone experienced this. While I'm working on a drawing, I hit the Layer manager button and Map shutsdown. The problem just started. Is there a solution?

In talks with a Adesk tech, I was told that most of the issues with the layer manager stem from a .NET issue. The only thing I would suggest is uninstall all .net components and reinstall them. Just a suggestion.

Which version? search the messages in this group for crashes. there are
several replys relative to different versions

It is known problem if you use AcadMAP2006 with stupid MapSkin turned on.
