chspace problem

I have created a viewport, twisted it, and am trying to use chspace to take objects from model space to paper space. When it does it it changes the elevation. Why? How can I fix it? Thank you for your time in helping me

If you look at the command line it tells you the object was scaled to
maintain visual appearance, it scales in all three directions, X-Y-Z.

It does not say anything about Z
"2 object(s) changed from MODEL space to PAPER space.
Objects were scaled by a factor of 1 to maintain visual
appearance."
