I can't open AutoCAD I get the error message Unhandled Exception C00000005
(Access Violation Reading 0x0ffffffff) at address 1C08CD99h.

When I try to start AutoCAD Map 5 I get the following:

Regenerating model.

Initializing . . . .
There are no valid MS Jet providers installed

.
There are no valid MS Jet providers installed
Failed.

ade.arx Load Failed
AcMapWorkspace.arx Load Failed

What can I do?

Bill,

did you get any error message during the installation process? It looks like
your installation was not completed correctly. I'd recommend to re-install
Map.

I had this same problem just a week ago. Check out TS64988 from the Knowledge Base.

Hi,

I also get the ade.arx ARX Command error. It concerns Autodesk Map 2004. Here at work we use the Network Deployment tool provided on the Autodesk Map CD's. I successfully created a deployment which to my knowledge worked fine. Now when I deploy Autodesk Map 2004 it completes successfully. I checked this also in the log file on the server (where the install dir. resides). Then when Autodesk Map starts under a standard domain user account it hangs at "Initializing" and returns this error: "Unhandled Exception c0000005 (Access Violoation Writing 0x0004) at address 7C01054Bh." The title of this error message is "C:\location of Autodesk Map 2004 ade.arx ARX Command".

I also tried KB http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2887222&linkID=2475323. That didn't work because the MDAC are already installed. Reinstalling doesn't work either.

Please help me out.

With kind regards,
Dereck Breuning
