When I import my shape file into my drawing I am not getting the text file to come in with the roads. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

It happens 'cause a shapefile never shows its attributes (even text) so you gotta label them, sir.

Ok, I am brand new to shape files. How do I label them?

Hi,

importing SHP and labelling afterwards is a frequently asked question - you will find more then one discussion about it in the forum.

If you are new to Map:

- either import the SHP including the attribute data (an import option) and then use Map's annotation feature

or

- just connect to the SHP file through FDO and label it using DisplayManager's StyleEditor

These basic tasks are also described in the online help system:

Good Luck,

Rob
