asked this a long time ago and never got an answer.
Versions: 2008,
2009, 2010.
We have a number of drawings with map scales on them. The
scales have the numbers set up as text fields. Those fields are connected to
the viewport, and a standard scale system to preset scales. 1"=1/4 mile, etc.
Atop the scale bar are single numbers: 0, 1/2, 1; etc.
At the halfway
point, you obviously put in the number that is half of the actual. So 1/2, for
1 mile, 1/4 for 1/2 mile, etc. To do this, I simply put in the formula for the
custom Scale - Units (none) divided by 2.
The problem is that on our
drawings we get the pound sign instead of the formula on the halfway point
when we save, regen or switch tabs. In order to to print, we have to print
each one, one at a time after updating the field. We have switched from
standard text to Mtext and back again. what is the
problem?
