Shape Connection vs. mapimport problem

I'm having problems with shape files in C3D/Map3D, when I "connect" to the shape files they are in the right location but when I "mapimport" them they are considerly off in a different location within my drawing.

I've check the drawing coordinate settings with my shape's *.prj files and they match and are using the same coordinate system.

Any idea or way to correct this would be appreciated, I can probably drag everything "mapimported" over to a common point but this indicates something is wrong and out of whack somehow.

Erase the .PRJ files and try again: if it doesn't work, zip and attach all here, sir.
