Scanning drawing for blocks

I try to create a road sign GIS drawing.
I would like to extract all "sign" block from our archived drawings.
Is there a way to batch scanning 1000 drawings for a specific block name?

The Design Center has a search option for that.

Well, maybe I'm wrong, but I feel that acad3d's goal is quite different.

He/she wants to extract the same block occurences (with own position) from 1000 drawings, in order to automatically compose a unique summary DWG, containing all the road signs.

I think that a script would reach that goal, but I can't prove it, 'cause in 1 hour I travel to my home country for 3 weeks, and I'll be back on 22nd August.

I wish every Map-addicted a nice summer, bye bye

You may be right, the OP is not very clear on what they want.

Enjoy your trip.
