Save back won't

New install of Map 4 on a new Win2000Pro machine. I get an AutoCAD Map Message " Cannot add object to the save set." and "Object is locked by another AutCAD Map user." Neither make sense as Map is loaded locally and I am the only user.
Not much work is getting done here.
Thanks,
Rick

Tharakesh,
Nope, I'm the only user. It's loaded locally and I've never had to use a password to get into Autocad. I do, of course, to log onto my machine.
Were using Win 2000 pro as the OS.
Thanks,
Rick

I finally found a document that explained that I need to log in as Superuser. I'm there and operating. Another Automystery solved by diligent digging.
Thanks for your help,

Hi Rick,

Logging in as a super user gives
access to any drawing & does not stop you in opening a locked drawing.Buit
still the question arises that incase..some other person in a company is a the
cadd manager...& only he can log in as a superuser with a superuser
password. In that case...if we are not aware of the login names we used....on the
same machine..things get worse(I mean when we are not allowed to login as a
superuser. Also take care logging in as a superuser to open any drawing is not
always the solution at ANYTIME.

Hope i was a little wordy this
time...

Have a nice day 🙂

Regards,

T,
Your concerns are well taken. Actually I'm the Lone CAD/GIS Ranger here and lock my computer whenever I leave it for more than a minute.
The whole 'security' thing is a world I'd rather not involve myself in if at all possible. Paranoia is not my style, y'know.
Thanks,
Rick
