You have a couple of options:
1) You can use a utility called "xyz2dxf" that will create a dxf file based
on the point data, or
2) Preferably you can import this point file into LDD and create a terrain.
This is done through terrain model explorer. Create a new surface, and
under "TIN Data", Right-click on "Point Files" and then "Add Point File".
If you still have an .xyz extension on your point file you may want to
rename it to .txt through windows explorer. This should set you up with a
LDD Terrain based on the DEM point data.
