Project Inspire for AutoCAD Map 3D Available on Autodesk Labs

Government organizations are adopting Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specifications when implementing new geospatial solutions. In Europe, this is primarily driven by the European Community (INSPIRE) directive. // more

Developed in support of the INSPIRE directive, the free Project Inspire Technology Preview for AutoCAD® Map 3D® 2012 software, helps AutoCAD Map 3D users to find, bind, and publish INSPIRE compliant metadata using an open standard CSW (catalog service for the web) interface. With Project Inspire, Map 3D users can more easily share environmental spatial information locally and over the web.

The technology preview is available until December 31, 2012. We would love your feedback. You can post replies on this thread.

I work in a Government Organization and am a little confused why you created this.  We use DataLogr, created by IMAGIN, for our metadata creation.  Metadata guidelines are typically developed at the state level, so that all state and county agencies follow the same format.  We have used DataLogr for probably 20 plus years, and will probably never change that.  All of the state and county agencies I work with follow the same guidelines.  And considering not all agencies use Autocad Map software, there is no way this will ever be used.

Thank you for your candor. During a technology preview, this is what we need to hear. We conduct technology previews early in the process for this reason.

Are there any plan to provide this technology preview also for AutoCAD Map 3D 2013?

I believe the team has gotten the feedback it needs from the 2012 user base.

The technology preview has been retired from Labs. The add-on will operate until 12/31/2012 for existing users.
