Migrate custom palette from AutoCAD 2012 to AutoCAD Map 3D 2012?

I am moving from AutoCAD 2012 to Map 3D 2012 and have a custom palette I'd like to bring over.  It appears you can not use the migration tool so I'm trying to figure out any other way.  Suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi,

hoping that you did your changes within an own CUIX you can just load this CUIX into your Map3D using command _CUI or _MENULOAD.

If you have modified the original ACAD.CUIX (it's not the way that is preferred), than you can use _CUI to transfer menu-data from your source menufile to a new one ... and this new one you can load into AutoCAD and also into Map3D.

Good luck, - alfred -

I have both products installed right now.  How can I export what I need out of AutoCAD and then bring it into Map 3D.  I'd like to add only the custom palette and not totally re-configure Map's layout to look like AutoCAD's.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I don't know and I don't see where you have done your modifications to the AutoCAD menu. So I can just guess:

The major steps are:

Within AutoCAD start command _CUI, create a new CUIX-file, than change to option "transfer" (sorry, don't know how it's called in english exactly) and drag your modifications from your current CUIX to the newly created one.

After you finished this work you have a new CUIX that could be loaded as partial menu to AutoCAD, to AutoCAD Map3D, to Civil3D, ....

Good luck, - alfred -

Thanks, I think I got it.  This is really a very counter-intuitive procedure....
