Mapimport from SDF with boolean property always 0

Hi,

I have problem with import sdf to the map.

All properties with type Boolean imported as Integer with value "0" into DWG document (no matter what the value was in the SDF).

Tested on Autocad Map3D 2013 64bit and Autocad Map3D 2014 64bit.

Hi,

wow, tried it now with Map3D 2015 x64 ... same problem.

And it's not only SDF, it's also the MAPIMPORT from a SHP.

Currently I don't know what to say about that, on one hand that I never recognized that (well, working not with boolean within my datasets, but others have that), on the other hand I commonly used MAPIMPORT/MAPEXPORT to convert data from one format to the other (as I have problems with bulk copy at 99%), now knowing that this will not work with boolean values. Hard, very hard.

At least thank you for bringing that up!

I am guessing because object data doesn't have a Boolean type it's defaulting it to integer.

Hi Murph,

>> I am guessing because object data doesn't have a Boolean type

well, good point.

Anyway, in that case I expect that it's converted e.g. to an integer (0/1 or 0/-1), same as I expect a date-field to be converted to a string (as OD also does not contain a DATE datatype). Losing data (without any warning) is always a bad story.

Hello

YES but it's so easy (as said Alfred) to convert a Boolean value to Integer value : someting like 0 and 1 (or -1)

I always said & say : Autodesk Please improve MAPIMPORT / MAPEXPORT !

and if possible the OD feature which is about 15 years OLD !!
