O.K. so today I'm having yet another "brain fart"
I have a map with a .SDF attached. I took the .SDF and copied/pasted into an Excel spreadsheet. This was to do a mail-merge to request access to property to collect samples from multiple folks. As I'm getting the responses in, I'd like my admin to update the responses & contact information we get back. Seems logical as my admin knows Adobe Publishing, & barely knows the MS Office suite. Rather than confuse someone with my ineptitude with database forms, I thought a spreadsheet would be the way to go. linking to Excel isn't my first choice, but...
I put the attached document together in 2010. I can get as far as configuring & connecting to the data source, but then I get a red "X" through the connection on Map Explorer even though it tests successfully. I went so far as to uninstall 32-bit MS office & download/install 64-bit (yup, the machine came pre-loaded with 32-bit - MS help actually took my call and had a link to a 64-bit download path to me within 8-minutes, so I was feeling pretty good until a few moments ago).
Other than moving into MySQL, any thoughts as to why I can't connect or suggestions for what else I might try?
