Map rubber sheeting vs Cad overlay rubber sheeting

I have Map 4 and recently used the rubber sheeting function on an aerial
photo. It did not stretch the photo but did a "best fit" scale and
rotation. I used Cad Overlay about 7-8 years ago. My recollection is that
CO would actually scale, rotate and "stretch" the image to fit. Is the RS
function the same in Map as in CO?

Thanks,

You are correct. Map cannot rubber sheet raster images, only scale and
rotate them. Cad overlay can rubbersheet raster images.

Neil,

Thanks for confirming my recollections. It's nice to know that my memory
hasn't totally failed me. I think it is unfortunate that AutoCAD has used
the term "rubbersheeting" for a function that doesn't have the same
capabilities in 2 different products.

Thanks,

Actually, map does perform "rubbersheeting", but only on vector entities.
