We have been experiencing a lot of locking up and freezing in Map 3D. The machine is a 64-bit with 4GB memory. All updates that we know of have been installed, but it to the point that it keeps us from completing projects.
Working with Xref's is especially a major pain. I have had to close the program down using the task manager twice today. Other times, it freezes when attempting to pan, delete items, move items.
We are at a loss as what to do next other than get rid of it and run AutoCAD 2012 which has not given us any problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You are not alone. I crash up to 10 x's day and productivity has decreased due to this issue and it would be nice to have more Autodesk Support to rectify this problem. I have also posted regarding this same issue.
I have gone through and done complete clean uninstalls, reinstalls, repairs, etc and nothing seems to fix it. You may have better luck than I have but I almost want to say do not waste your time uninstalling and reinstalling. I did a clean install following Autodesk directions to ALL of my Autodesk products, nothing fixes it. Many hours have been lost just attempting to find a solution.
I didn't have this issue with 2012 but I do with 2013.
I have reinstalled 3x now, and still no luck. My next step is to upgrade my memory avove the 4gb I am running now. I do agree that more support would be nice other that just being told to "Restore your Windows to a state BEFORE the Map2011 installaton (click WIN-R, type in RSTRUI.EXE, and OK), run a deep Ccleaner, finally reinstall Autocad."
We have had this on two machines, and both had the same issue. If the memory upgrade does not work then I will trash Map and go back to basic AutoCAD.
We also found Symantec anti-virus caused 2012 to bug. Do some checks with turning on/off your virus software.
I wish that was still my issue but I feel it's an Autodesk issue and nothing to do with our computers or servers.
Unfortunatley we are not authorized to turn on/off antivirus software, malware, etc. As we are on a main server for our parent company, we as users are only autroized to use the machines, two appointed tech persons are the only ones authorized to add/remove software.
