Lats Longs from excel to MAP

Looking to take Lat/Long values from excel to MAP. I'd like to place a point (or block) at each location.

Here is how I managed to do something similar:
Save the lat/long values as .csv, only those two columns no additional columns per datapoint(i.e. no column for "description" or whatever).

Then open the .csv file in Notepad.
Comment out any header lines, using a semicolon.
Add these two instructions at the head of the file,
MULTIPLE
POINT

then save the .csv file as .scr (script)

then in AutoCAD do Format -> point style to choose size and mode for the points you are about to load.

then Tools -> run script and choose the name of the script file you just made from the dialog box that pops up. Your points will be loaded onto the active layer.

Then press escape, to get it out of the 'multiple point' mode.

Hope this works for you.

Hai Eliza,

Sounds very interesting>>
Followed the same way u mentioned me>>>
But I couldnt get desired results,
Firstly, as u mentioned I wrote MULTIPLE POINT on the head of the point.
Could u tell me why this has to be written,
when I try to run the lisp this asked me to place a point.
It is clear that the default co-od sys is taken as Lat-Lon.
Whay would be the problem?
Could u please illustrate?

Nandakishore,

MULTIPLE POINT is the command that draws the points. It won't stop
asking you to place a point until you cancel it by pressing ESC, but
before it should have created the points specified in the scr.

I hope that clarifies.
