Labeling topology via query

I define a query to place labels based on my topology(object data). The labels always come in the wrong place. They are always on top of the label used as the centroid of the polygon. Is there a LISP string or something else I can do to offset these labels from the centroid?

Wouldn't the Justification option in the Alter Properties Define Text
dialog do the job?

Thanks for your reply, Marion.

Changing the justification did not move the labels enough to get them away from the labels that act as centroids. Is there a LISP string that could be entered in the alter properties where you choose either .LABELPT or .CENTROID that might move the labels?
