Importing shape files into Map 3D in correct coordinate system and units...

I am having a problem with some shape files we have generated.  We have some centerlines that we converted into shape files for the state of Ohio.  They are exported from MapInfo.  We need the information that we draft to show up in Google Earth which is UTM WGS84.  For Ohio the bulk falls in zone 17 north.  When I bring the centerlines into AutoCAD Map 3D they are set the meters (we get roughly 1619 for a distance between intersections that are approximately 5300 feet).

Is there a way to get this to import in feet?  We draft everything in as feet so this is very important.

My soluttion right now is to find a fixed point and scale everything up 3.28 and then reverse it when the drafting is done.

This of course is not ideal as I would simply want the units to be imported/converted during the process.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
